Show B3 . ffl SB UPON BYJEALERS. SCALE PROVIDES PAYMENT OF ONE CENT FOR PURCHASE PUR-CHASE FROM FIVE TO 74 CENTS. The schedule of Utah sales tax charges, as evolved by R. H. Butler, secretary of the Utah State Retailers' association, to collect $2,000,000 in annual revenue rev-enue for the state's share of the cooperative national industrial recovery campaign with the federal fed-eral government, will be generally general-ly applied throughout Utah by all retailers Saturday morning. Universal and uniform application applic-ation of the schdule for collection of the 2 per cent sales tax in every retail activity was forecast fore-cast by unanimous agreement to the schedule as individuals by between 100 and 150 Salt Lake retailers at a meeting Friday in the chamber of commerce. Copies of the schedule were requested Of -Mr. . Butler by, -E.-Jr-- Fielsted, secretary of the Ogden chamber of commerce, and Clayton Jenkins, Jen-kins, secretary of the Provo chamber of commerce, for use by Ogden and Provo merchants. Nearly a dozen Salt Lake merchants mer-chants adapted the schedule to sales Friday, it was reported by Mr. Butler, who also explained that the sales tax act became effective ef-fective Friday and that the tax on all Friday - sales would have to be absorbed by the merchants. |
