Show Myton News ' by Grace Dalgleish Francis Smith was rushed to the Veteran's Hospital, Saturday, by Matt Uresk, Antone Uresk, and Mrs. Smith. Mr. Smith is employed at the Uintah Basin J Standard and suffered a severely j damaged hand in machinery while at work. His many friends hope for his complete and early recovery At a Sacrament meeting, Sunday at the Myton Ward Chapel, Mary Hardinger was confirmed a member of the L. D. S. Church by Clarck Roberts ; John Richard Hardinger Hard-inger was confirmed by Max Peatross; Pam Brokaw was confirmed by her grandfather, Austin Brokaw. Leca Ann Groves, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Groves was blessed by Clark Abegglen(Leca Ann's father is serving in the U. S. ARMY in Korea); Bonnie Diane Kettle Ket-tle was blessed by her father Jerry Kettle. County Commissioner and Mrs. Wilmer Murray were visitors Friday at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. John W. Tucker, in Price. Members of the Central Christian Church of Salt Lake City will conduct the Sunday morning services at the Myton Presbyterian Church, next Sunday, February 13th at 11:A.M. . A cordial invitation invita-tion is extended to all to be present to participate in the services which will be conducted con-ducted by Floyd Potter who will deliver the sermon Tw.o inches of snow fell during the late hours, Sunday night, bringing much needed moisture to the fields and greater depth to the mountain area and high water sheds. Monday night brought a light snow fall Old friends were advised that Terry Calvert who resided in Myton during his younger years, underwent severe surgery, at the Casper, Wyoming hospital last week. A phone call to Mr and Mrs. Frank Adams reports that the lung tumor operation was a complete success and Terry has passed the danger point and is on the way to complete recovery. Keith Peatross of Salt Lake City visited his mother Mrs. Lydia Peatross in Myton and also his brother Max Peatross and family in Duchesne last week p. Keith is a former Myton resident. A flash fire in the roof of the Tanner Store, Saturday afternoon, caused a lot of excitement as fireman and customers got busy and quickly had it under control. Water,. j in the store, was very plenti- ! ful for awhile, but strange as it seems, there was virtually no damage to merchandise. Material for roof repair was quickly ordered and on Monday Mon-day all signs of roof damage were errased and business went on as usual. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams enjoyed a surprise visit from a World War II buddie who served in the Navy with Frank, A.L. White who with his wife came from Medford Minnesota spent the weekend at the A'dams home. Other visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Norman(Toots)Adams and son of Grantsville. He. is a brother of Frank and also a former resident res-ident of Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Richard(Ricki) Adams came from Salt Lake City and is a nephew of Frank. The large family group enjoyed a very happy week-end. Mr. and Mrs. James Young arrived from Ogden later. Mrs. Lynn Nickel, theology leader of the Roosevelt Stake Relief Society attended the Relief Society meeting at the Myton Ward Chapel , Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Perry were Salt Lake City vi sitors last week to receive medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Linck are enjoying a winter vacation at Phoenix, Arizonia and anticipate antici-pate a visit to California before returning home . if M 4 a Mi I 1 H :- ' If:': ' x KENNETH U MACK TO PRESIDE AT MEETING Kenneth L. Mack, President of the West Duchesne County Chamber of Commerce, will preside at the St. Valentine's Evening meeting, which will start at 7:30 p. m. at the courtroom in Duchesne. The membership drive for the club is now underway, headed by Mrs. Florence Smith, Tabiona. This meeting is open to the public. A large congregation attended the Sunday morning services at the Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. A Layman's service was presented by Roy Degler of Ft. Duchesne. The theme "Say it now" brought forth a special message which was delivered with a musical background back-ground of recorded pipe -organ selections which were in charge ch-arge of Mr. Degler' s son, Roger. Rog-er. Mrs. Melvin Schwartz presided pre-sided at the piano as accompanist accom-panist for the hymns. Mrs. Frank Adams accompanied accomp-anied her husband to Greenriver Wyoming, Monday, as he returned return-ed to his work. She will remain j there during this week to be with her husband and visit that area. |
