Show X -V on-- vVA ! k' c X I i WEDDING RECEPTION HONORS MR. AND MRS. GaLYNN OAKS j A wedding reception honored Mr. and Mrs. GaLynn Oaks April 16 at the Duchesne Stake Cultural Center at Duchesne. The bride is the former Lila Firth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Herbert Firth, Duchesne. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen S. Oaks, Mae-ser, Mae-ser, Uintah County. The couple were married April 15 in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Clirist of Latter-day Saints. Elder Sclvoy O. Boyer officiated. For the reception, the bride donned a white lace over white taffeta gown, which she designed and made. The floor-length frock was fashioned with an empire style waist, which was emphasized with a white velvet ribbon. The bodice of the gown was highlighted high-lighted with hand-sewn white sequins and clear beads. The tapered sleeves came to points over the hands. She donned a full-length veil of net. The bride was attended by two of her sisters, Mrs. Lela Adams and Mrs. Julia Harvey. Their frocks were of rose hues of pink taffeta with lace overlay. Joyce Wagstaff, Debra Gardner and Sandra Firth, flower girls, wore gathered skirted frocks of pink taffeta. Mrs. Alice Firth, the bride fs mother, wore a green nylon frock styled with a shirtwaist shirt-waist neckline that was trimmed with matching lace. The bridegroom '.s mother chose a frock of jersey print. The bridegroom was attended attend-ed by Steve Schurz, Vernal, as best man. A three -tiered wedding cake, with white icing, decorated dec-orated with pink roses, was topped with the traditional figurines of a bride and groom. Pink candles in crystal holders, and pink flowers decorated the tables. Leland McNeal, Vernal, was master of ceremonies for the reception program. The program consisted of a skit performed by Ginger Roberts, Rosalyn Fabrizio, Devona Defa and Judy Defa, of Hanna; a vocal trio by Mrs. Herman Freeman, and Shauna and Colleen Freeman, of Utah, who played their guitar accom-pliment; accom-pliment; a vocal trio by the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Firth, Vernal. Drew, Dennis and Dan sang "It's Love, Love, Love, " accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Naomi Gardner of Vernal; a pantomime by Claudia Davies, Duchesne; vocal solo by Steve Schurz, Vernal; Wintertonfs Orchestra, Roosevelt, played the dance music. The reception hall was decorated with floral arrangements arrange-ments of pink and white. A white trellis arch was entwined with ivy and pink roses. This area was set off by a white picket fence. |
