Show Police Bulletin The leading cause of highway high-way accidents in the Uintah Basin in 1965 was animals in the roadway. This accounted for 56 of the 306 accidents investigated in Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett counties-District counties-District J of the Utah Highway Patrol. The activity report of the Utah Highway Patrol in District Dis-trict J for 1965 listed 204 persons injured in the 306 accidents investigated; $184, 000 property damage (does not include Roosevelt and Vernal City). Six persons in these three counties were killed in the highway accidents last year -4 in Uintah County, 2 in Duchesne County, and none in Daggett County ; This is. a reduction of 50 percent from 1964, patrol officials report. The Utah Highway Patrol in this area last year issued 1, 655 arrest citations, 2, 039 warning notices, arrested 89 persons for drunken driving, arrested 56 for operating a motor vehicle during revocation revoca-tion period of the operators license, served 75 warrants and pickup orders.
