Big Michigan Elk The biggest bull elk killed in Michigan's 1964 season, the first in more than 80 years, is now on permanent display at the Museum at East Lansing. I thought readers might be interested in this picture (see below) which shows the bull with John Hope, the museum artist who mounted it. Gary Loebrich, who shot the 1, 000-lb. 000-lb. animal, described his hunt in "Michigan's First Elk Hunt" featured in OUTDOOR LIFE last AM. I1 Loebrich, one of 269 sue-cessful sue-cessful hunters out of theJ297 permit holders who hunted, donated head, skin, and skeleton skele-ton to the museum for its Hall of North American Wildlife.
