L I Jones Jone state health commissioner There was an increase of per pei percent percent cent in the number of new cases case of influenza over the entire state stat reported to the Utah State Board of Health during the week ending February 24 over the previous week There were increases also in measles chickenpox scarlet fever pneumonia and whooping cough and slight decreases in Ir mumps diphtheria and losis The significant thing about this thi report according to Dr Jones is that there was such a tremendous increase in the number of cases of influenza Public Health authorities who have made particular studies of ot disease cycles have been ing a marked increase in the number number number num num- ber of cases of influenza during the period 1938 39 according to Dr William Wllliam M.
