Show IT. EMMONS By Mrs. Sarah Case Mr. Merlin Kenyson of Salt Lake City came out Saturday taking his sister, Mrs. Pearl Case, out with him. She will also visit her parents while there. Mrs. LeRoy Rust is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. L. Carpenter at Manti for a few weeks. Mr. Harry Chapman came in from Salt Lake with some new furniture. They are moving into their new house soon. Mrs. Hazel Taylor entertained at an elaborate dinner Wednesday. The invited ladles present were Mrs. Esther Boswell, Mrs. Owen Bgnnion, Mary Case, Mrs. Edith Case, Vera Holder. Milda Daniels, Sarah Case, Mary and Annetta Bennion. A most delightful time was had. Principal Edwin and Mrs. Vest, Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Daniels, Miss Wielding, Mr. Jones, Miss Edith Hamburg attended teachers institute at Vernal Saturday. Mr. Joe Babcock passed away here at his home sometime during the night, Saturday. He has only b:en back from Salt Lake City less than a week and was living alone. Sunday morning when his neighbor, Ed Crosby, called in he was found sitting up in his rocking chair by the stove, dead. Funeral services will be held here Wednesday. Mr. Howard Thacker is home after spending some time at the Indian CCC camp. Mr. Edwin Thacker who is in the army at Fort Douglas, U for a faw days, visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rawlins Thacker. Word came from Mr. Edgar Miles, Austin Taylor and George Fisher, who are touring California and other states, that they are having a wonderful trip. Some friends of Mrs. Hazel Taylor entertained in honor of her birthday anniyersary on Saturday evening at the Ross Case home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Volney Boswell, Berch Bennion, Joseph Case, Evan Bennion, Ed. folder, Leslie Pearson, Sarah Case and Hazel Taylor. We all join in wishing them prosperity and happiness in, their new e prize. and Robert Colorow, Indians, residing in and around Myton were arrested near Duchesne Wednesday evening with a load of Peyote which they were smuggling into the Basin from Oklahoma. County sheriff Arzy Mitchell and state patrolman Jack Young made the ar.est. The Indians were taken to Roosevelt Thursday for complaint and arraignment, and will probably be bound over to the district court which meets in Duchesne on the 28th of February. The Indians were arrested in Indian canyon, about six miles from Duchesne, at 5 p. m. They had in their possession 150 lbs. of the contraband peyote, or mescal buttons, some sort of an Indian ceremonial torch, drum sticks, etc. They said while in Oklahoma they had attended several good peyote and that they were meetings," not molested there. Mrs. August Moss was a Duchesne visitor Tuesday. Paul Brown, grandson of Alex Murphy, who was injured by a fall from a car several days ago, has improved sufficiently to be moved to Salt Lake.
