With appurtenant structures it will approximately $1,200,000. The P W A has allottted $1,500,000 for the entire project. Every effort, continued the captain, should be made to get ft better water system for your city and your council and law officers should give you a lot better support than they are doing in cleaning up your citys fire hazards. A fireman can make suggestions but he is not and will not be a policeman or other law officer, and a department can only be as efficient as its water supply. The day was spent in checking over the equipment of the department and in local fire problems with their solutions. In the evening, Captain Piercey gave an lecture to the public. He stressed the dangers of matches, gasoline and amateur electricians in the home and the sorrows and Five million losses they cause. dollars and fifteen thousand lives are the annual fire toll each year in this country. Both Captain Pnercey and Mr. Gunderson were enthused and pleased with the local firemen and their department. They were also pleased with the enthusiasm of the towns people in turning out for the educational lecture in the evening. The Captain and Mr. Gunderson were mutual In their feeling that the interest shown here merited another days work for Wednesday with the local fiemen on their proto blems. This is a compliment the city and the firemen in that it is an expensive proposition to the state and the time of both of these men is very much in demand.
