Show u MRS. HOLMES, DETECTIVE. Salt Lake has been the place chosen cho-sen for tho initial presentation of the playlet "Mrs. S. Holmes, Detective." The playwright is Ruth Bryan Leavitt, daughter of William Jennings Bryrn. twice tho standard bearer of the Democrats. Dem-ocrats. The playlet is tho outcome of a dare when Mrs. Leavitt in company with some friends witnessed U17 production pro-duction of a sketch in Denver. The statement was made that she could wrlto something as good and she accepted ac-cepted the challenge. The result was that "Mrs. S. Holmes, Detective," will be produced hero for tho first time at tho Orpheum on Monday evening, April 1C, by three of Denver's best known society people. Mrs. Elizabeth Spencer will essay the title role. She is tho wife of the county clerk in Denver, Den-ver, and will be assisted by Will Chamberlain Cham-berlain as James, a butler, and H. L. Morton as Lord Pomercy-Pomercy Smith. Tho piece is now being rehearsed re-hearsed in Denver, and should it prove tho success anticipated it will be placed on tho Orpheum circuit. |
