National Editorial Association Will I Visit Lewie and Clark Fair. i, A reunion of all the stato press as- I sociatlons on, tho Pacific coast is planned to bo held at Portland during tho Lewis and Clark Centennial In connection with tho oxcurslon of the National Editorial association, which will visit Portland after concluding its sessions at Guthrie, O. T. IB Tho original plan of tho National as- II sociation was to meet at Guthrie on 1 1 May 20, and proceed from there to Portland, but as this would bring the editors to tho fair city about the opening date, Juno 1, It is likely thai the convention will be postponed, ana the National association visit tho t H I tlmo between Juno 15 and June The National Editorial association associa-tion which is the largest and most enresentatlvo body of newspaper men the United States, met in conven-L conven-L in Portland Ave years ago, and members brought homo with them only pTeasant recollections of their S in the "Rose City." The California, Idaho, Montana and Washington Press associations are agreeable to the Idea of meeting in Portland about tho time of the arrival nf the National association. The Ore-eon Ore-eon Press Association has already ?oted to hold its 1905 session in Portland Port-land and it is likely that tho press as- Isoclatlons of Nebraska and other states will swing Into lino as soon as definite arrangements for tho Guthrie convention and excursion aro completed. |
