Show 3 3 It Is a great pity the caso of Senator Sen-ator Smoot was not decided beforo the senate adjourned. It will now probably drag along for almost another an-other year, and tho agitation will be kept up to the great detriment of tho state. The3e internecine quarrels, which havo been characteristic of Utah for so long and which for tho past two years havo been waged with renewed bitterness, after a period of comparative compara-tive quiet, work inestimable injury in-jury to the stato and all classes residing resid-ing therein. This Is regretablo, es-pe.cially es-pe.cially as thoro is now no reasonable oxcuse for their existence. It Is a fact, however, that they do exist. It Is a fact that they not only keep desirable desir-able residents away from tho state, but cause many a good citizen to move away. They aro the direct cause of stagnation in business, of keeping away outside capital, which otherwise would como and assist In tho development develop-ment of tho resources of tho state. "A house divided against ltsolf cannot can-not stand." This continual quarrelling hurts business, hurts every Industry in tho stato and wo shall havo no real progress until It is stopped. |
