It is shown by tho financial statement that after paying all expenses there was a balanco left of $17,049.49 at the end of tho year; tho school year. If wo recall the circumstance correctly, many mom-bors mom-bors of the board Insisted at the time tho last levy of taxes was made that there would not bo sufficient revenue with which to meet expenses and wanted a levy of 3-10 of a mill more. Treasurer Carbls and Auditor Fisher wero opposed to having this additional amount added to tho taxes, contending that the levy ns first suggested would bo enough, as It has been proven. Under proper administration tho funds raised will bo nmplo. No one desires the board to bo stinted in its funds The Board of Education during the past two or three years has dono wonders won-ders In extracatlng the board from the financial slough into which it lnd fallen. We are informed tnal there will bo a balanco this year of somo $25,000. Wo do not believe be-lieve the expenses will amount to as much as tho estimate last year called for. The estimated expenses for last year wero $4G7,800, and we are told thoy will be must less. The report shows tho schools to have boon in excellent condition. Great improvements im-provements aro constantly being made. Truth sees no reason, however, why It should require such a long time between be-tween the making of these reports that go to make up an annual report and tho day of publication.
