Show NEVADA MINING CAMP. Manhattan, Nev., May 30. Manhattan Manhat-tan is rapidly recovering from 'the result re-sult of the recent earthquake and conflagration con-flagration In San Francisco, which for a time threatened to very materially curtail mining operations, and tho various va-rious mining properties aro again being be-ing worked with vigor. There was, perhaps, no camp in Southern Nevada more vitally affected by tho disaster than Manhattan, as, prior to April 18th, San Francisco business men wore very considerably Interested in the development develop-ment of the mines and prospects of tho district. Tho withdrawal of their support sup-port has been more than offset, how-over, how-over, by the advent of capital from other points, and, after a period of slight depression, normal conditions again prevail. Renewed activity Is ap-parent ap-parent In all sections of the camp, and each day's development, botli at surface sur-face and underground, Is of a character charac-ter that tends to more thoroughly demonstrate dem-onstrate tho value and pernancy of the gold-bearing veins of tho Manhattan Manhat-tan district. Tho showings on tho Gold Hill properties In particular are becoming more remarkablo hourly. Here, an averago of thirty miners are employed on each property, and ore is being sacked for shipment to the smelters at Salt Lake City, in every direction. di-rection. , o |
