Show ADMIRAL EVANS' RECEPTION. The party of officials and representative citizens who went to H Ogden to meet Admiral Evans and wish him Godspeed on his journey H eastward, paid a tribute to him that he was entitled tq. H Most men, when they become famous and great, find them- H selves claimed as natives of many different states, but it must, never- H thclcss be gratifying to a man when he finds that people arc proud of him because he lias made good. We believe more in the spirit H of giving expression to our good will during the lifetime of an indi- H vidual rather than at his funeral. H Admiral Evans is growing older and will soon retire from active I participation in affairs and we hope that in his quieter, retiring years I he may find some satisfaction in knowing that Utah is very proud I of him and will always feel that the State has been benefited by his I temporary sojourn within its borders.
