Show A Thrifty Firm One of the really surprising things noted about Cache Valley and this is more noticeably the fact in Logan than in other towns and cities in the county is the number of young business men. As a rule in other places it is found that mercantile or industrial concerns arc being handled and managed by elderly people. But in this beautiful little valley the young men seen to predominate in these matters, the consequence being that the snap and vim so prominently identified with the business life of the communities seems to come from this source. This fact is called to mind when visiting stores and establishments of various kinds, but nowhere is it more noticeable than in the case of the Howell Brothers place of business. In this establishment we find three young men, William M., Luther M. and Joseph Howell, Jr., the partners in this enterprise, though William and Luther arc the active managers. This firm carries a complete line of men's furnishings, men's, women's and children's shoes and all the concomitants of the case and fashion seeking male sex. Being the leading firm in men's haberdashery haber-dashery they appeal to the public that so generously patronizes them by the very fact of the merit of the goods they carry. Every line represented means stability, honesty and care in the making. Their men's clothes, embracing as they do every late style, with prices to suit the convenience of all, are sold with such rapidity that no sooner is one season closed than the clothes arc all gone, while the shelves are filled and the counters covered with the latest styles for the next season. The same condition obtains in shoes, hosiery, neckwear and all the requirements of men's fashions. Besides this they carry, as stated before, be-fore, a complete line of women's and children's shoes and rubbers. As a fitting addition to any wardrobe, men or women's, they have also a complete stock of trunks, suitcases and all manner of traveling companions of convenience. T'1 Prcmises occupied by this firm arc those located at 81 and 83 North Main, and consist of the ground floor and basement. On the ground floor is carried all the retail stock, while the basement is given over to overalls and surplus stock. The store itself is one of the handsomest in Logan. The front, of a beautiful chaste design, made with an eye to harmony and convenience, conve-nience, attracts even the most casual visitor. The doors, wide open show the interior with its well lighted atmosphere, relieved by immense im-mense shelves and imposing counters. The goods are so arranged that they arc easily accessible, and, as prices on everything arc marked in plain figures, this is found to be a great convenience,' as in many instances customers if in a hurry can consult goods and prices provided the force of clerks is busy. Then, again, the presence of plain figures gives indisputable evidence that there is "One Price to All In these days of keen competition, this fact is guaranty of good faith, for it shows that fair and just treatment is the aim of this energetic ener-getic little place of business. Inasmuch as outward appearance goes far in business, just as it does m men, it must be said for the firm of Howell Brothers that they have maintained in every respect surroundings in their store that comport com-port with their business. In this, reference is made to the appearance of the store, which, viewed both inside and out, conveys a sense of completeness, stability and progress. Their store front is of the latest style and design; their show windows models of compact, modern business, in which is displayed all the latest styles of wear and the requirements of fashion and style as dictated by good sense and judgment. As prefaced in this article, the members of this firm are all young men, but if they are young men, it is indicative of their good judgment and business acumen that they lead other firms in their line ' Bringing Bring-ing to bear the result of years of experience in their business, familiarity famili-arity with the home people, and being thoroughly wide-awake and up-to-date, they are abreast of the times in their business in all its departments. de-partments. The consequence is they are enjoying a trade that might well be envied by larger and apparently more prosperous firms. But the business is still in its infancy, and with the demonstration of the same good judgment that has heretofore marked their course there is little reason to doubt that the firm of Howell Brothers will always be regarded as one of the leading firms in its line in the beautiful little city of Logan. a St!D- JaeS for Pluibin??
