Show DEATH CALLS THOS L L thomas L ono one of our most respected citi citizens zend answered the summons of the grim reaper last sunday morning at his home on south west street death came as a result of pneumonia which followed a set back from influenza the news of his demise came as a 4 great shock to his many friends in this city for those who had been informed concerning his sickness were under the impression that he was recovering mr was the son of the late patriarch george and janet lyon he was born in new york city may 31 1859 and was brought to salt lake city by his paron parents one year later and at the age of two years he be was brought to chii acty and has rem resided aided here since that time he has grown crown up as a man of trust in our community and has been a faithful public servant for many years he was county recorder for one term acted for one term as city councilman was water master on the settlement canyon irrigation company stream an aal served as president of the water board fora for a number of years As a public servant he stands out paramount as the city sexton which office he fie filled with unexcelled service for 19 years and 9 months without one complaint against his work he held this position until the present city administration took office alithe first of the year ecclesiastically he bebas was a fajth ful member of the L D 8 church was a member of the quorum and acted as secretary of this bod body y for a long period of time As aa a man lie he was inoffensive and his integrity could not be questioned he was married to annie bevan february 23 1886 and to thi this s union ten children nine girls and one boy were born he is survived by hh wife and nino nine children as follows mrs W A lougy mrs beldon forguson mr IL T goodjohn and the misses bertha emily ruth sarah and blanche au of this city and james of macky idaho he is also survived by four sister and one brother namely mrs janet janef dunn mrs william stewart mrs airs john park and matthew all of this city and mrs william tanner of logan utah funeral services ces over the remains bams were held in the south ward church wednesday afternoon at 2 the church was crowded with friends and loved ones and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful bishop A E M atkin conducted the service the choir under the leadership of al M H rendered selections solos werd were sung by mrs airs john G gillespie and mrs airs evelyn isgreen the speakers were moroni england Engla iid joseph A wagstaff jr lafayette orme and president C alvin orme the opening prayer was by A A walters find and the benediction by bishop bichop A L hanks interment was in t t tooele thoele cemetery bishop E M atkin dedicated the grave |
