Show OBITUARY f 1 S W ORME EDITORS NOTE the following article on the death of samuel W orme was taken from the fremount county news st anthony idaho and gives a complete account of the death and funeral of mr orme former senator samuel IV orme one of tho the most prominent citizens of Fre bremont county in political business and ecclesiastical circles died ai at about aboul 11 tuesday morang as a result of it a stroke of apoplexy which he suffered at about 9 while at his cheep camp near roberts at tho the timo time of the attack mr orme was alone at the camp preparations were being matte made for the removal of the herd and camp to the desert mr air ormo remaining to prepare for the move while two herders gerders attended to the sheep on returning to the camp tho the herders gerders found mr orme lying on tho the ground where he had evidently fallen after finishing his hia work lie ho was still alive but unconscious medical aldeas aid was called from roberts and the physician ordered his removal to a hospital at idaho fulls falls lie ile expired however about six miles from the falls apparently without gaining consciousness sons of the deceased who had been with him during the spring at tho the camp nil all had returned home to pro pre paro for the desert trip were summoned with other relatives and the body was taken to the family homo home at wilford for burial in the cemetery there funeral ses services vices were held at the wilford meeting hous houed 3 at 2 thursday afternoon with counsellor george mcarthur presiding vie tho opening prayer wits was by bishop spiers and tho the benediction by president Pios ident herr the ile speakers were charles and eric Jd jahnson linson of wilford geo coe bof of sugar city gov C C moore president D G miller lion ilon severson of ucon acon six bi others brothers of the deceased acted as pall bearers be arcis appropriate songs were sung by the ward waid choir a solo by lester dayton and a duet by mrs wood and miss sadie and a quartette by mrs wood tho the misses and clarice jensen tho the gaye was dedicated by president ormo orme of thoele tooele stake utah senator ormo orme was born sept 19 1858 at toselo city utah and was therefore in its his year lie ile was of english parentage of utah pioneer stock stock some members of tho the family coming over the trail in the handcart expedition in r february 1885 ho was married at the logan temple to miss mary A smith and their first homo home was established at tooele thoele they remained there until august 1897 when they camo came to idaho and located at wilford Wil tord which has been tho the family homo home since mr air and mrs orme were tho the parents of linb children all of whom aro are living tho the sons are arc sam uel J of st anthony milo S of Di drummond ummond J roy E dean and rcck recd of wilford tho the daughters are mrs E af jorgensen of st anthony mrs wm D II Il ollist mrs arnold swenson and elva ormo of wilford with mrs orine they are the surviving members of tho the immediate family tho ile orme family engaged in public worl work e extensively samuel W orme onne before coming to idaho was elected mayor of tofele tooele city utah in idaho ho he served two terms as county commissioner of fremont county and was state senator for four years As a church man he was bishop d ot wilford for 15 years and when released from that position was elevated to the high council of yellowstone stake in business ho he was ivas a farmer fanner and she with marked success and as side issues he engaged in the mercantile business arving as vice president of the cha chase se furniture co and president of the fogg jacobs mere alere co the past year for a number of years he was a stockholder and director in the st anthony bank trust co and in the collapse af that institution last year ho he lost tho the greater of the modest fortune lie he had received as a reward leward for a life time of hard work with the indomitable spirit of tho the western ann however ho be was starting in to repair his fortune in full faith that it might yot yet bo be done in spite of hij advancing years senator orme had and six brothers living J C orme former county commissioner of remont fremont ti county now lives at idaho falls john K orme onne resides nt at sugar city S C orme onne is at squirrel in utah C alvin orme onne la Is president of tooele thoele stake E 31 ormo orme is cashier of tho the state idank at tooele and lafayette ormo orme Is a resident of the same place an indication of the high esteem in which the late senator ormo orme was held is shown by the largo large attendance at his funeral and the volume of the boral offerings in the opinion of his fils fel ho he was a rare example of 11 i man of sterling integrity and of whom no man spoke ill III during his life or after his death PREMONT FREMONT COUNTY NEWS |
