He's gotten a lot of flack in his previous 'two films for the fight scenes just looking like unorganized clash-es of metal. Also on the upside, he proved just how irrelevant Me-gan Fox was to the series as he replaced her with equally irrel-evant Victoria Secret bombshell Rosie Whiteley. But on the downside, he thinks his movies matter much more than they do and has decided, once again, to wear out his welcome with an-other al most-three-ho- film. He also miscast Patrick Dempsey as the film's villain. Dempsey as the bad guy is about as scary as it would be to find one of the Smurf 's burglar-izing your house. In spite of all this negativ-ity I'm putting out though, it's ironic how easy it is to actually ignore all of these and other holes in Bay's movies. The dude creates a finished product that is extraordinarily entertain-ing, and just like last summer's "Piranha 3D," you find yourself brimming with silly satisfaction at the end result. Content: Rated PG-1- 3 for sci-- fi violence, language and mild sensuality. Other Opinions: 46.601 "Average Joes" give "Trans-formers: Dark of the Moon" a rating of 6.7 out of 10 while 227 professional film critics give it an average score of 36 percent out of 100 percent. Should you see it? It's hard to say no to a summer block-buster this big, especially when it reveals the true reason why the USA raced to put the first man on the moon. The Casual Critic by Daryl Austin "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" Casual Critic Score: 7 out of 10 Release Date: July 1, 2011 Rating: PG-1- 3 Length: 157 minutes Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci- - Fiction When Elisabeth Shue signed on to star in last sum-mer's silly popcorn flick, "Pira-nha 3D," she was met with an explosion of outrage from crit-ics who slammed her for stoop-ing her Oscar-winnin- g talent to such a low level, yet, I say, is that any less silly than another Oscar winner, Fiances McDor-man- d agreeing to star in a film like "Transformers: Dark of the Moon?" Let's face it people, Direc-tor Michael Bay may be the king of one box office smash after another, but he does not strive to make movies that mat-ter. And when you get right down to it, a film that is based on a child's action figure is not striving to inspire you very much. He simply knows how to introduce hot women to the big screen, overload you with CGI, and blow things up. Yet, in spite of his thread-bare plots and downright silly scripts, he gets all of us (includ-ing me) pumped up about the idea of his latest "masterpiece" to the point where we are will-ing to scurry on down to the lo-cal theatre and flash our plastic. Transformers 3 doesn't dis-appoint in the special effects de-partment, the action sequences, or in overall entertainment val-ue. On the upside, Bay showed that he really can make the fight - t'l Pictures are NOW AVAILABLE at: iPlcAAyKid ' .com i XaJI """ mi Hkm f Wtmmt (im. .WM ' m m 111!) ViV!! ' i r ...... i I r:--7 ' ' ; .
