Police Department Offers New Service to the Public On August 2 the Pleasant Grove Police Department an- ; nounced a new service to allow al-low members of the public to provide anonymous tips to law enforcement. The service, called Tip-Soft, Tip-Soft, was recently announced by Attorney General Mark " Shurtleff as a statewide initiative ini-tiative involving more than 50 law enforcement agencies agen-cies throughout the State of Utah. Starting today, citizens can submit anonymous tips to Pleasant Grove Police through the Web, smartphone app, or by sending a text message to "CRIMES" (274637) with the keyword PGPDTip. "The widespread use of text messaging makes it easy for the public to help law enforcement agencies fight crime," said Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Police Chief Tom Paul. "And with TipSoft, they can know that it's safe for them to do the right thing without ever disclosing their identity. TipSoft, which is made by Draper-based CrimeReports, allows agencies and members of the public to exchange messages mes-sages back and forth through a completely secure and anonymous anony-mous channel. "With the launch of Tip-Soft, Tip-Soft, the Pleasant Grove Police Department is demonstrating its commitment to protect ing the community," said Greg Whisenant, founder and CEO of CrimeReports.
