Show Utah Children's Choir to Hold Choir Camp The Utah Children's Choir is holding its annual Choir Camp August 9 through 1 1 at the bottom bot-tom of the Pleasant Grove Library. Li-brary. The camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and children will need to bring a sack lunch. In addition to choir rehearsals, classes will be offered such as voice and basic skills, singing games, crafts, and private voice. On Monday and Tuesday the children will be taken to the P. G. pool for swimming if they wish. Wednesday will feature a Sing In and pizza party at the end of the day. The camp is open to any children between the ages of 8 to 16, who love to sing. Teaching Teach-ing at the camp will be Artistic Artis-tic Director and founder of the UCC, Kay Asay. She started the choir 26 years ago and has brought it to both national and international renown, competing compet-ing in many festivals and competitions. com-petitions. This past season the choir sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Taber-nacle Choir on their Christmas Concerts at the Conference Center and Music and the Spo ken Word broadcast, with Natalie Nata-lie Cole as guest artist. Marilyn Rudolph is the vocal vo-cal coach for the choir and will be teaching at the camp as well. Mrs. Rudolph is well known in this area for her expertise as a soloist and as a teacher for young people. There will also be a snack bar for a small purchase. If you have children that love to sing, the camp is a good place to start them out. The cost is $65 for the three days. Auditions for the Utah Children's Chil-dren's Choir are currently being be-ing held. The new 27th season promises to be an exciting one! The auditions are for placement in one of three choirs. The children chil-dren need to have a little song to sing, and the whole process takes about ten minutes.
