In addition to choir rehearsals, classes will be offered such as voice and basic skills, singing games, crafts, and private voice. On Monday and Tuesday the children will be taken to the P. G. pool for swimming if they wish. Wednesday will feature a Sing In and pizza party at the end of the day. The camp is open to any children between the ages of 8 to 16, who love to sing. Teach-ing at the camp will be Artis-tic Director and founder of the UCC, Kay Asay. She started the choir 26 years ago and has brought it to both national and international renown, compet-ing in many festivals and com-petitions. This past season the choir sang with the Mormon Taber-nacle Choir on their Christmas Concerts at the Conference Center and Music and the Spo ken Word broadcast, with Nata-lie Cole as guest artist. Marilyn Rudolph is the vo-cal coach for the choir and will be teaching at the camp as well. Mrs. Rudolph is well known in this area for her expertise as a soloist and as a teacher for young people. There will also be a snack bar for a small purchase. If you have children that love to sing, the camp is a good place to start them out. The cost is $65 for the three days. If you would like to come, please call and make ar-rangements so that we will have the necessary materials for you. Auditions for the Utah Chil-dren's Choir are currently be-ing held. The new 27th season promises to be an exciting one! The auditions are for placement in one of three choirs. I still enjoy go-ing to city council meetings, and though my hearing is not as good as it should be, I have found that it is a place to learn a lot about the city. Anyway, I began this article to talk about retiring. I retired, served two LDS missions, and I am now back writing again. I love it!
