Show Engineer Assigned to Plan Mill Creek Dam at Moab K. E. McDougald, President Presi-dent of the Grand County Water conservancy District has been informed by Daniel F. Lawrence, director, Utah Division of Water Resources of new development concerning concern-ing the Moab watershed project. pro-ject. Duane Clam, a design Engineer En-gineer with the soil conservation conser-vation service has been as-igned as-igned to his office to work with Bob Morgan on the preliminary pre-liminary design of the Mill Creek Dam. Mr. Clam has been committed by the SC3 to work on the design phase until completed. A meeting has been set for December 8th with Colonel Donovan, district engineer, Sacramento district, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. Ken McDougald & Don Hoffman Hoff-man will accompany . offici- als of the Utah Division of Water Resources to Sacramento Sacra-mento to meet with Colonel Donovan and his staff. The purpose of the meeting is to coordinate methods to be used in approaching a "partnership "part-nership project" which the Grand County Water Conservancy Conser-vancy District has proposed. D. L. Taylor and Don Hoffman Hof-fman will attend two meetings meet-ings this week relative to the conservancy district efforts " On Thursday they will meet in Price with representatives of various agencies regarding regard-ing a proposed experimental agricultural project connected connect-ed with irrigation water from the proposed dam. On Friday a meeting at the State Capital Capi-tal will concern the small watershed applications (Public (Pub-lic Law 566) which was submitted sub-mitted three years ago to the Soil Conservation Service. The application will be reviewed re-viewed soon for inclusion in the next round of studies by hte SCS which will start in 1972. The SmaU Watershed Act has provisions in it which would allow various corrective correct-ive measures to be taken on the watershed and could be especially suited to curing the flash flood problems from the slick rock area on the northeast side of Moab. |
