Show Rule Forces Change in School Bus Routes Superintendent of Schools Hill B. Meador announced this week that in order to comply with the Pupil Transportation Safety Act developed by the National Highway Safety Sa-fety Administration a number of bus stops on Murphy Lane and Holy-oak Holy-oak Lane will have to be changed. Meador and School Board President Sam Taylor met with members mem-bers of the Grand County Coun-ty Commission Monday to request that walkways be provided along the two roads where changes are to be made. The County agreed that gravel surface sur-face sidewalks could be constructed this year and a sealcoating will be applied ap-plied to them sometime next summer. Beginning on Monday, November 27, the school bus will make only one stop on Holyoak Lane. This stop is to be located lo-cated as near as possible to the center of the lane. The exact location will be posted on the road before Nov. 27. On Murphy Lane, only four stops meet the safety sa-fety requirements as specified by law. Also beginning next Monday, all students who ride the bus will be required to meet it at one of the following fol-lowing stops; Zone No. 11, Old Rowland Murphy residence; Zone No. 14, Valley View Mobile Folates;' Fo-lates;' Zone No. 19, Ivan Winters residence; and Zone No. 21, Old City Park Road. The School District is asking the cooperation of all parents in implementing implemen-ting this program and invite in-vite anyone with questions ques-tions concerning the action ac-tion to contact Mr. Meador. |
