Fackrell, Executive Director of 1CPA said. Fackrell said the agreement with the Conservancy District could result in the construction of a dam and reservoir to store about 50,000 a.f. of water. The reservoir would be located either on the Fremont River, about 3 miles south of Caineville, or off stream about 2 miles northwest of Caineville. Caine-ville. ICPA has been authorized to obtain and hold water rights for the Intermountain Power Project, Fackrell said. ICPA is one of seven participants in the Power Project. In consideration for financing financ-ing and constructing the water storage project, ICPA will receive the first 25,000 a.f. of water for use in a proposed 3000 MW generating station to be located approximately 10 miles north of Caineville. The storage project is estimated to cost approximately approximate-ly $17,000,000 and would be completed prior to the operation opera-tion of the proposed first generating unit in 1984. The Wayne County Water Conservancy District was formed in 1975 and last fall was granted water rights by the State Board of Water Resources for unallocated waters wat-ers on the Fremont River. The purpose of the District is to develop water supplies for domestic, manufacturing, irrigation, irri-gation, power and other beneficial uses within its jurisdiction. |
