Show Foreign Travel Groups in Moab Top travel agents, journalists and tour directors from 12 foreign countries, the United States and Canada will be in Moab this week touring the Canyonlands region, according to Dixie Barker, Director of Community Development at the Moab Chamber of Commerce. The 29-member group is expected to arrive Wednesday afternoon by air, tour the Arches National Park, then be hosted to a dinner and Canyonlands by Night river show that evening. Thursday, -the delegation will see the Canypnfends National Park by air, then leave for the Durango, Colorado, area. Mrs. Barker said the eroup is part of a 1 500 member convention known as the Discover America International Pow-' Pow-' wow which opened Saturday at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. The convention is being sponsored by the U.S. Travel Service and the non-profit Discover America Travel Organization. The delegates spent the weekend touring scenic areas of the Wasatch I Front The Canyonlands visit will be one , of hundreds of post-convention tours f arranged for the travel groups throughou . the United States. The Utah Travel , Council and the Grand and San Juan f Travel Councils will host the group Wednesday and Thursday. |
