Show Mi Creek Project Could Bring 1 ,000 Acres df New Ground into Agricultural Production If completed, the Mill Creek Dam project could bring 1,000 acres of land in Spanish Valley Val-ley under cultivation, according to estimates made by the Schick International In-ternational study completed com-pleted a few years ago for the Grand County Wate r Conservancy District. The acreage estimates were for use of conventional irrigation irrig-ation methods, however, if the drip-feed irrigation irrig-ation method currently being tested is used, this acreage could be considerably expanded. At this time the Utah Division of Water Resources Re-sources is completing preliminary design standards for the dam and these will be presented pre-sented to the Corps of Engineers on April 15. The Corps will then determine de-termine whether or not the specifications are adequate enough for them to participate in the construction phase of the project. Financing ' of early phases of the project is coming from the State of Utah and the Four Corners Regional Commission, Com-mission, as well as the Grand County Water Conservancy District. The funds for the. actual construction are expected ex-pected to be shared by the Water Conservancy District, the Division of Water Resources, and other appropriate sources such as the U.S. Department of Agricul- SELL AND BUY THROUGH The Classified Section - ' v ..- ; : .
