Show Moab Cagers Begin Round Ball Season Running two weeks behind schedule because of the extended football season, Moab Mo-ab basketball prospects turned out Tuesday, to vie for spots on the 1975-76 edition of the running Red Devils. Coach Del Ford welcomed out some 35 prospects in the first drills for the team. There will be little time for Moab to get ready as they trail all of their division opponents in starting practices. A scant eight days will be all the time Moab .has to get ready. They will face a tough alumni team in the opener, the day before Thanksgiving at 7 p.m. This is the second year Moab has opened with a game against the alums and this should be another good one. The alumni team will look very much like last year's fine Moab team as Jeff Cathey, Donnie Knowles, Kenny Roberts, Rob-erts, Mike Adkison and Van Mays return to the Devil boards. Add to that some stars of great years like Von Isaman, Mike Steele, and Pete Davis. Obviously Moab lost quite a bit of talent to graduation. However, they have some coming back. Look for seniors Marlyn Wyatt, Kenny Bohn and Ross Tabberer. Junior prospecis include Mike Bunce, Kim Loveridge, Mike Zimmerman Zimmer-man and Danny Frakes among others and a soph, Tommy Pruitt. That's only a sample of players now contending for team places. The Devils have a husky eighteen game slate this year including a pre-Christmas tournament here for both varsity and junior varsity teams. . M Hi s y 1 v . i I . .. k. . These veterans will be counted on heavily by Coach Del Ford as he gets his Devil basketball squad rolling for the new season. They are, left to right, Ross Tabberer, Marlyn Wyatt, Kim Loveridge, Mike Bunce, Tom Pruitt and Kenny Bohn. |
