The attorney would receive an increase from $1075 per month to $1500 per month; sheriff an increase from $11S1 to $1300 per month; clerk-auditor an increase from $1075 to $1200 per month; and assessor, recorder and treasurer an increase from $9S7 to $1100 per month. The budget proposes the county road supervisor be raised from $1165 to $1300 per month, with other county employees given a 6 percent cost of living increase. SptruJ items in the proposed budget include a computer for the hospital at $45,000, and $100,000 to the Spanish Valley Water and Sewer District to enable that body to begin building a sewer system. The monies for the sewer system were approved with the stipulation that they be paid back to the county from bonding monies, should a bond issue pass. If a bond issue doesn't pass, the money will be paid back out of connection fees as they are collected. Comm. Dan Holyoak and Comm. Leo Burr voted in favor, with Comm. Merrell voting against. Some of the special capital outlay items included in the proposed 1979 budget will be paid for from revenue sharing funds. A separate public hearing on the revenue sharing budget is required, and this is set for Monday, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m. |
