Show Aerial Minded JV's Bounce Bucks 35-18 A pass-minded Moab junior jun-ior varsity team bombed Monitcello 35-18 in a chilly and extended JV football game Monday afternoon. Four of the game's scores came in the last quarter, including in-cluding three touchdowns in one minute and eighteen seconds. sec-onds. Junior Steve Wyatt, a lefty, threw three touchdown passes, pass-es, ran for a two point conversion con-version and kicked another. Another scoring pass, to Ron Bowen, was nullified. Soph Gene Roberts, also had two scoring passes ,and was on the receiving end of two cf Wyatt's payoff throws. After Rick Martinez rambled ram-bled 44 yards to set the first Moab TD, the Devils stayed pretty much in the air. That first score was a one yard toss to Roberts. Mike Walterschied Walter-schied caught the next score from 24 yards. Wyatt to Roberts Rob-erts for 22 yards added a third. The lone touchdown from the ground was a one yard plunge from Kevin Hansen after a touchdown had been called back. Hansen to Roberts Rob-erts pass for the conversion added two. Buckaroo standout, stand-out, Richard Redshaw, followed fol-lowed that one with a 65 yard return of the kickoff. That, too, went for naught, as Roberts Rob-erts launched one to Stan Holland which covered 69 yards. With Wyatt's conversion, conver-sion, the two teams had racked rack-ed up 21 points in a little over a minute. Ten and one half minutes later, with seconds left in the game, Les Rogers threw to Line Pehrson for the last Buck score. Rogers spent most of the game on his back as the Devil linemen swarmed all over him. Kershaw Ker-shaw kept Monticello alive with a 42 yard run in addition to his kickoff return and a fine defensive effort. |
