Show Band Day at University Set Oct 8 Scheduled for the eighth Hand Band Day at the University of Utah on Oct 8 was wu announced Wednesday by Dr Ronald D. D Gregory Gregory Gre gory U director of bands Between 1200 and 1500 high school students from Utah and neighboring states are expected to attend the observance which will be marked this year by the annual football classic between Utah and Brigham Young university sity In the U stadium at 8 p. p m. m Dand Band day will be held jointly with High School Senior Day as It was last year High school band students will register In the band building from 12 noon until 1 I p p. p m m. with a mass I band rehearsal In the stadium scheduled from 1 to p. p m. m From to p. p m. m a series r of clinics have been provided each student to attend any two of ot his choice They Include movies of college bands band In action demonstrations bons of ot marching band techniques by the U band a baton clinic and a tour lout of the campus Also open to high school visitors is the Senior Day dance at the LOS Institute of Religion At p. p m. m the U will provide provide pro pro- vide a barbecue following which at 6 p. p m. m band blind members will wll meet at the stadium At they will step off oft In the game pro parade parade par ade which will climax at p p. p m m. when they will form fonn a huge block USA on the field Together with the nyU BYU band they will play Sousas Sousa's Immortal Stars and Stripes Forever under un un- under der Dr Gregorys Gregory's baton and then will be led in The Star Spangled Banner Danner by Dr Leroy J.
