Show RIVER RANCH HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE The fit fl e a room dwelling on the RIver ranch owned by W J Parker Of Og- Og Ogden Ogden den and occupied by Charles Lance and family was completely destroyed by fire Sunday forenoon All of the contents of the home including all of the furnIture personal effects and clothing of the Lance family were lost The loss was around 2500 and it IS there was no insurance The fire started in the ceiling of the house and was apparently caused bya by byla la a a flue Mrs Lance and andi i children were alone at the time and andI I when they discovered the blaze one of the children ran to the Dale M Par Par- ranch about a mile distant to telephone an alarm By the time the fire signal was sounded and a crowd of men had rushed to the river nver ranch which is about three miles from town the house was a mass of flames and nothing could be saved Mrs Lance and children had attempted to save some of the contents of the building but so rapidly did the fire flIe spread that they were able to save only a small amount of bed clothing The building consisted of five rooms and was built of sandstone with a aframe aframe frame annex practically all the possessions of the Lance family were lost in the fire TO aId the familY a subscription was circulated throughout town dur- dur during during ing the week and a very sum of money was contrIbuted by townspeople to assist the destitute famIly |
