Show SURVEY OF ROAD OVER OVERBOOK nOOK BOOK MOUNTAINS County Commissioner A M Robert Robert- Robertson son returned Tuesday evening from the Book mountains where for some time past a survey had been conducted by bythe the he county for a proposed highway ex- ex extending extending tending from Thompsons north to the Uintah county line The survey Vv gas as conducted by Engineer A A L Rowell assisted by A L and Ivan Johnston of CIsco Commissioner Rob Rob- Robertson ertson assIsted In the work much of the time The proposed route from Thomp- Thomp Thompsons Thompsons sons to the Uintah line is miles in length Only two miles of the dis- dis distance tance will Involve heavy construction and a 11 maximum grade of 7 per cent was obtained For 26 miles the route follows along a ridge without crossing a single wash The road would not be expensive to build it was found and Jt it v could open o n up a very interesting country with numerous ranches and vast areas or of range lands Practically all of the people living in that district are very anxious to have the highway built They agree to furnish rights rights- of nay free of charge and in addition will donate labor on the road |
