Show INFLUENZA FATAL TO HIGHLY RESPECTED WOMAN FORMERLY OF MOAB FUNERAL HELD HERE WEDNESDAY mrs mina bliss 57 wife of william J bliss for 20 years sheriff of grand county and now a deputy sheriff of carbon county passed away at her home in price monday morning following a three months illness resulting from influenza mrs bliss who for 40 years was a resident of moab had scores of warm friends here and her death Is universally mourned the body was brought back to the old home at moab for burial accompanied by the family and numerous friends from price funeral services held wednesday afternoon from the L D S chapel were very impressive and a remarkable display of floral offerings attested the high regard in which mrs bliss was held bishop W D hammond presided at the services the speakers were W R mcconkie and bishop hammond A vocal solo one sweetly solemn thought was tendered by mrs C A loveridge and the choir sang sometime well understand oh my bather and farewell AU earthly honors benediction was offered by george A newell interment was at the moab cemetery among those coming to moab tor the funeral were the immediate family george stocks and daughter thelma of salt lake city mrs louie francom payson mr and mrs martin stewart abamo nevada mr and mrs aulls tulls long mr and mrs B W dalton and mrs dalton sr of price mrs arthur gibson price mr and mrs S marion bliss price mr and mrs angelo bonzas price mr and mrs harry bennett and family green river mrs jennie smith and children price and mrs mamie jameson price mrs bliss is survived by her husband william J bliss two daughters mrs louie stewart alamo nevada and mrs mamie long utah two sons arthur bliss WU liams ariz and loyd bliss price two brothers william stocks moab and george stocks salt lake city and two sisters mrs mary E cummungs gleason ariz and mrs louie francom payson she was bom january 10 1874 at mantl utah the daughter of angus M stocks and mary forbush stocks the family came to moab in 1884 on september 8 1894 she married william J buss and resided at moab continuously until 1923 when mr and mrs bliss moved to sunnyside Sunny side utah in 1928 they moved to price mr and mrs bliss were inseparable dur ingher lifetime and her passing Is a keen blow to the husband to whom the deep sympathy of his host of friends goes out mr and mrs guy miller and mr and mrs joe ocamica of cisco mr and mrs george W gordon james games and loyd smith of grand junction and oscar foy of gateway were moab visitors monday and tuesday being here to attend the sessions of justice court at which the gordon brown cases were heard |
