Show hiffa school news faun mcconkle reporter the eighth grade class rendered a very interesting program last friday broadcasting from station BUNK at moab the program was as follows bong by robert goudelock vocal duet by madlne folster and toots walker dano solo madge negro dla onie by herbert newell and paul shafer string deef by miss and helen buehr radio town criar verle taylor broadcasting bedtime story louise dalton time signals and station BUNK at moab signed off the program proved to be very interesting and entertaining coach kemball was absent tuesday from school on account of illness mrs edna patterson substituted for mr kemball the cast for the operetta purple towers has been selected and Is a follows clay allred katherane Kather lne oliver helen bush christensen glen kay hammond newell taylor curels robertson rosalie gar cla and jack the junior prom which took place lost friday was without doubt the m eanest event of the year the juniors had worked hard preparing tor the event and it surely was a success one of the largest crowds ever in attendance at a dance here was present and the prom was probably the prentest prea test financial success so far as go in the history of the school the decorations and programs carried out the idea of a japanese cherry blossom festival A special feature of the prom was the junior promenade led by the junior class president the decorations and programs were very pretty as well as unique during the evening refreshments were served the oratorical contest on the constitution ution sponsored by the salt lake tribune Is now well under way and district finals for this district will probably be held march 29 at price six students of grand county high entered the contest and eliminations were held last week those in the contest were elsie snyder who spoke on the constitution in the dally life of the individual anna westwood the constitution a guarantee to the individual faun mcconkle origin of the constitution all seniors clare johnson the citizen his privileges and duties under the constitution carol balsley the constitution in the dally life of the individual sophomores and lyman duncan a freshman on lincoln and the constitution all the orations were very good and the judges found eliminations very difficult from the rix three were select ted to contest again friday from these the winner and alternate were selected the winner being faun mcconkle and alternate clare johnson the mothers of the juniors surprised the class a few nights before the prom and served refreshments and helped the class with the work of making flowers the juniors wish to thank all those who helped so much la making their prom such a success |
