Show DEATH ENDS SUFFERING OF STRUCK BY LIGHTNING art ELVE YEARS AGO HAD BEEN TOTALLY DISABLED SINCE THEN mark V beeson 46 years of age a resident of moab since 1905 died saturday at hi home here following an illness extending over a period of twelve years during most of that time mr beeson was totally disabled and the last six or eight years of his life were fent in a wheelchair wheel chair mr bensons beesons Be esons illness dated from the spring of 1915 when he was struck by lightning at his carnu at la sal his body was severely burned and from that time on he appeared to be suffering from paralysis of the lower limbs he managed to get around in a wheel chair for years however and he was a familiar figure on the streets of moab about two weeks ago mr beckon was stricken with an attack of influenza and he failed rapidly death relieving his sufferings saturday morning funeral services were held from the L D S chapel monday afternoon and were attended by many frends the opening prayer was offered by john W dalton C L christen n and W R mcconkie were the speakers and both praised the patience and fortitude of the departed during his long years of suffering they aso spoke on spiritual matter the closing prayer was given by F M shafer the ward choir sang 3 hymn a abet was rendered by mrs west II ammond and H W balsley and mr and mrs hammond and bishop and mrs W P hammond sang a quartet mark V beeson was bom on october 30 1881 at Pitts borough calhoun county mississippi his boyhood dayt nere spent in that state and about 22 years ago he came to moab with his parents mr land mrs W W beeson and family he was roamed about twenty years ago to miss ann stocks of moab and to their union five children were born all of whom survive mr bebon is survived by his widow and the following children jack 15 roy 12 dons 11 floyce 9 and angus 7 his parents W W bee on of texas and mrs N C beeson of moab also survive together with the following brothers and asters will beeson moab mrs ida walker moab mrs susan moab george and duff beeson moab and joseph beeson payette idaho miss jennie donterville Sont erville underwent a serious major operation at a hospital in grand junction yesterday miss somerville went to the junction monday accompanied by mr and mrs james somerville mr and mrs W G Sorri erville bishop and mrs W D hammond mrs arah mcconkie and mrs annie it is reported that he is recovering from the operation nicely |
