Citizenship Schools Good for Men Too Since woman suffrage has sponsored women citizenship schools in several s states ates and at least three state universIties universities have issued courses of ot study in civics to all women who apply many men who have voted because they were male and 21 are are beginning to wonder if preliminary Instruction Inthe in inthe inthe the art of ot voting may not be a good thing The Universities of ot California and North Carolina have issued regular study outlines on citizenship for wom wom wom- en n. n New Hampshire and Dartmouth I are cooperating and the University of ot Minnesota is Is' the fourth to be heard n from I I I I L I E ENORMOUS REGISTRATION Minnesota's university has gone f further fur further fur r ther in cooperating than has hiiS any other j It has Just held a short course in i for tor women voters conducted Jointly by the university's general ex extension cx- cx tension division and and am the Minnesota League of Women Voters Registration for the day dey lectures was limited to and to for th the evening lectures But the popular demand for admission was so great that admission to tp the latter had to be stretched to WHY WHY NOT FOR MEN TOO University professors cl claimed they had bad never carried on more satisfactory extension work and that the evident grade of intelligence as evinced by the questions and interest of the women was was- unusually high Newspapers of the state showed great Interest In the course and in the attitude of the women Schools for men were wore advocated advocated the Minneapolis Tribune asking editorially Why Not For Men Too To make and best of their franchise privilege men vot voters rs' rs need expert information on these things Just Justas as women do said the Tr Tribune bune They may have a better bette genera general knowledge of the practical and t political phases phases' of public problems than their wives daughters and sisters but the tho average male voter is not on very sure ground as to many of the subjects discussed in this university extension course for women
