Show UTAH SHEEPMEN ARE INDIGNANT OVER TAX Much Indignation is being expreeeed by Utah a heap men on account of a tax of S cents per head levied on all sheep going from Utah Into Wyoming. Horn. time ago H. R. MUlard. aecretary of the Wyoming sheep rommlaaton, wrote to C. . We reallae this Is unjust and It will probably be changed by the present pres-ent legislature. On October Octo-ber S a meeting was held by the Wyoming Wyo-ming board of sheep commlealonarg and It waa decided that from that dale until tl.e law could be changed they would only collect fees on enough sheep to pay the cost of Inspection. This fee haa at no time alnce been more tha a S2S." However. Mr. Htewart yeetarday received re-ceived good evidence that the matt ft la not now being handled aa Indicated. O. P. Hackling of Vernal came to the office of-fice of the Utah aheep commlaalon and left a receipt that had been given him by the Wyoming eheep commission showing show-ing that he had paid a tax of BI4 on 1S00 sheep. The matter la being handled further with the Wyoming commission and units un-its some Immediate steps are taken tn relieve the situation It U probable that a slmtlsr tax on Wyoming sheep will be urged in ITtah. |
