Show Visitors Cheer Sick as Hospitals Hold Open House " In Commemoration of Florence Nightingale's Birth and just plain sightseers cheered sick friends and showed approval of the strides made by medical science In the fight against disease. The spirit of Florence Nightingale walked down ahining hospital corridors cor-ridors as crowds of well wishers ited by his son, Bill, and a young friend, Elaine Lillian Crosby, another an-other Ensign school flower bearer. Several hundred nurses and others of th general public ar expected to attend a memorial honoring the famed nurse, to be held it I p. a Friday in St. Mark' cathedral. Sponsored by the alumnae association asso-ciation of St Msrk's hospital school of nursing, the memorial will be th first of it kind held here and occurs oc-curs on the 118th anniversary of the birthday of Florence Nightingale, famed early-day nurae. The memorial address will be made by the Very Rev. Franklin L. Gibson, dean of th cathedral, and all nurses in the city have been invited to join the processional, which starts at Spaulding Memorial hall, adjoining the cathedral, and which will be led by ex-service nurses of the Edith Cave 11 post of the American Legion, members of ths nursing school and alumnae. At St. Mark'a hospital, a dedicatory dedica-tory service was held commemorating commemorat-ing completion of a new addition to the nurses' home. At the L. D. Holy Cross hospital held open house from t to S p. m, with visitors visi-tors conducted through all departments depart-ments except those not completed under the hospital's $0,000 modernisation modern-isation program. At Salt Lak general hospital visitors vis-itors were conducted on a tour through.th newly remodeled nurses' home, with guides explaining the nursing education program, th facilities fa-cilities for th treatment of outpatient out-patient and provision for emergency emer-gency accident victims. Visitors to th Cottonwood maternity mater-nity hospital were served refreshment refresh-ment and conducted on a tour of the hospital and grounds.
