Show rABLAND, BANJOISTi Alfred A. Farland proved himself a master of the banjo before a large audience audi-ence in the First Congregational church last night. Mr. Farland is a magnificent banjoist and his fingers brought out a diversity of melody from the instrument that-vas a surprise for Els hearers. By a shifting of the instrument instru-ment he changed the tone and reproduced repro-duced with remarkable effect all of the musical distinctions that amaster is capable of producing on the violin, harp or cello. Harry Harper, a well-known local banjoist, is responsible for the second sec-ond appearance of Mr. Farland here. His first concert was given four years ago last-night. Mr. Harper spared no effort to make the concert the remarkable remark-able success that It was. C. D. Schet-tler, Schet-tler, who, with Miss Margery ' Mulvey and the Ladles' quintette, assisted Mr. Farland, was applauded almost as enthusiastically en-thusiastically as the master himself. Miss Mulvey is an accomplished player on the mandolin. |
