Shaw of Billing, Mont, has . been in Sheridan several' days securing ' contracts con-tracts for, the raising of 1600 acres of sugar beets In this county the coming season. Mr. Shaw represents the sugar txet factory which is to be erected at Billings, Mont, this year. He Is closing clos-ing manyontracts at $4.&0 a ton, which is the same price under which the Colorado Colo-rado farmers operate. ' - -The contracts cover a term of three years with the proviso that growers shall be released In the event of the erection of a sugar factory at this point during the life of tha contract. Jt has been demonstrated that the soil of this 'section "produces vbeets very highly charged with saccharine matter; the tonnage also runs high. Already the prediction has gone forth that Sheridan Sher-idan will have her own factory in operation oper-ation In-the fall of 1907. Contractor Shaw wears a pleased smile and will soon have contracts for the requisite acreage. ' |
