He declared that, although he. knew hla front lights were defective, that h expected expect-ed to return to the garage from a trip before dark. Judge X. II. Tanner Tan-ner held that, as Wlscomb had continued con-tinued to drive while aware that one of the front lights wss out. that he had committed a willful violation of the la w. W I scorn b w as orde red to serve one day in Jail. Two of the cases wer dismissed. Warrants of arrest were Isaued for A. Doka and W. B. Harper when they did not appear to answer to the charge and their hall waa forfeited. Nine other drivers who admitted that the tail Ughta of their machines had gone dut wer fined each. Thirteen negroes charged with vagrancy va-grancy asked that they be given a I chance to leave town and almost stam-, stam-, peded from the courtroom when the jndge told them that their wish would be granted. Thre other ncroes who denied the charge are held for trial. |
