J Ellis Friday had been awarded a judgment in district court The judgment is against Strevell company and Walter Spinks named defendants in the Ellis complaint filed last April 2 The company was sued as owner of the hotel property Mr Spinks as manager of the hotel The latter batten according to the complaint after granting Mr Ellis permission to visit a party on an upper floor of the hostelry shut off the elevator power as the visitor was ascending In the lift After being held prisoner prisoner prisoner pris pris- oner in the elevator for 15 or 20 minutes Mr Ellis charged he was unlawfully turned over to the police by Mr Spinks and detained for two days at city jail Original request of the complaint was was' for 1507 damages including pain and suffering caused by the plaintiffs plaintiff's asserted inability while in city jail to properly care for a leg appendage upon which he wore worean worean worean an artificial limb The amount of damages given was fixed by a jury which tried the case in Judge P.
