Show THOMAS HULL BURSAR AT U DIES AT HOME Former Legislator Succumbs to Illness of Several Months Thomas Hull bursar of oC students students' funds at the University of Utah and auditor and secretary of the board ol of oC regents died Thursday at 5 a a. a m. m althe at al atthe atthe the family residence in the Hillcrest apartments of or carcinoma He was 79 years old Mr Hull had been In ill health for tor several months and since September 1934 had been confined to his home Born in London England December December December Decem Decem- ber 27 1855 a son of Eli and Susannah Susannah Susan Susan- nah Lake Hull he came to Utah while a youth and in 1875 settled in Salt Sail Lake City His parents came to the United States Stales shortly after arriving arriving ar ar- ar riving here in n 1878 Active Church Worker Upon his arrival Mr Hull became engaged in L. L D D. D S. S church work He labored as a Mutual Improvement missionary in Davis Weber and Box BoxElder BoxElder Elder stakes in 1891 and in 1897 was appointed general secretary of or the general board of the Y M. M M. M I. I A A. of or the L. L D D. S. S church At the time of oC his d death ath he was senior member of oC the board He was a former business business busi busi- ness manager of the Improvement Era of the L. L D. D S. S church of or which magazine he was one of the original organizers In 1903 Mr Hull was elected to lo the house of representatives on the Republican Republican Re Re- publican ticket and served as speaker speak speak- er of the house durin during the fifth firth anc and sixth sessions of oC that body He later became United States surveyor general general gen gen- eral for Utah which position he held for Cor eight years He at one time lime was in charge of or the savings department of the Walker Bank and Trust com com- pan pany Made Secretary Mr Hull was made assis assistant nt secretary secretary sec see and auditor of the University of or Utah in 1920 and a year later was made general secretary and auditor Married twice his first wife wile Mrs Margaret C.
