Show O II I c L N I WHY THE GOBLINS BEGAN TO DANCE DANCE One night when the Fairies went to the dell for a a. frolic they found the Goblins had had their moss covered carpet carpet cart car car- pet t for a picnic ground Without letting letting letting let let- ting the Goblins know they were there the Fairies flitted away to another pla place e to talk It over They know this dell deH belon belongs s to us said Bald one one Fairy but If we try to get t them t to to move they will stay to bother 1 I us If we we we- vant want the pl place ce to ourselves we must think of some way to get rid of them without letting them suspect suspect sus sus- p t we want th them m to go They have all aU sorts of ot nice things to eat said another Fairy I saw th baskets behind the rocks but of course they would never ask us to their picnic because they are so greedy I am sure there Is room for us us' us to t to dance at th the othe oth other r side side of the dell said Mid one Fairy so why think about tho those e naughty Goblins Let us begin be begin begin be- be gin our dance So off they flitted to the other side and taking hold of hands the Fairies began to dance around and around and pretty soon the Goblins who could not dance at all saw them They left all iU their feasting and ran ran down to th the end of the dell deU to watch the dance Without noticing th the Goblins the Fairies danced on They swayed and bowed and swung and tripped to the them m music the grasshopper band was playing playing playing play play- ing until to their astonishment th the Goblins began to dance also First they danced around with the Fairies making a ring around them but pretty soon the Goblins separated and danced by themselves s. s Around and around to the side side and and then backward then forward they danced always whirling and stepping as though some strange thing had bewitched bewitched be- be witched them Off they all danced out of the dell ove over the hill and ancl away When the Fairies stopped dancing the they were alone in the dell with all I Ithe Ithe the nice things the Goblins had brought for their picnic i I wonder if it would be right forus for Ius i ius us to e eat t some of the food s said aid one little Fairy I I think the food belongs to us said I another because the Goblins spoiled our picnic one night night by by tumbling into II everything we had But they waited for a while t to see if the Goblins would not return and j I When it was almost time for the sun i ito to come over the hill ill the Fairies began j 1 to eat for they knew then that the Goblins would not return return Just at daybreak there tumbled into I the woods d the dell deIl the tho GOb Gob- Goblins Gob Gob- line lins and oh such tired little fellows as they were for they had danced all night long I The Fairies without knowing it had I bewitched them with their dancing until each each- little fellow had danced hi his s little legs almost off They tumbled into their rock house houses s without looking at the empty baskets and so the Fairies never neve knew whether er or th they th-ey y remembered about the food o 01 Ot r not But when hen the Goblins bothered th the e Fairies after that all the Fairies hato had ha d to do was vas to start dancing and off of t f would dance the Goblins far awa away Copyright 1919 by McClure Newspaper News- News pap paper er Syndicate New York City |
