H Allen Alien 71 a carpenter living at East Sixth I North street died Sunday from In InJuries Injuries Injuries In- In juries received when he was struck by a a. truck The accident occurred at 10 a. a m. m Sunday at the intersection of Center and Second East streets as Mr Allen was WB en route to attend the funeral of William D. D Alexander a lifelong friend He was cutting diagonally across Center street when the truck driven by John C. C Knight 32 West First South street approached According to Police Officer Albert Halliday the elderly man started to cross the street in front of ot the truck and then turned to retrace his steps Mr Knight started to turn out for him and this evidently confused Mr Allen who stepped Into the left front fender The impact threw his shoulder shoulder shoulder der against the radiator fracturing the shoulder and crushing his ribs Officer Halliday talked with Mr AlIen Allen at the hospital and announced following the conference that Mr Knight had been exonerated from all aU blame Mr Allen was born In Provo October October October Octo Octo- ber 15 1860 and had lived here his entire life with the exception of ot a n. few years spent at Nephi He was a member member member mem mem- ber of the L.
