His parents reside near Liberty Park, and this afternoon a messenger was sent to conreythe Intelligence to them Uial their son had niH with a serious accident. The boy was en the second floor,- Ihls afternoon, and was ensagtd ln fixing tho electric bell .For this purpose lie went up aladder,anl while hU head was over the top of tho frame work the elevator was started. Before he could get out of the way, the weights, which w eigh more than a thousand pounds, came down upon the back of his head. His face was forced down oa tlie frame, and one of the bras ornaments caught him just under the left nostril, crashing throagh the jaw, and making a hole about two Inches long, nearly an Inch in diameter, ami from two to .three inches deep. He eas wedged in so tightly as to ston the elevator. His cries brought uslstance and he was quickly re-Usii re-Usii rrom his terrible position. Dr Plnktrtou and Fowler were called, and examined his wound. Tho injury on tho back of the head, as well as that to the face is quite serious, though it is not considered likely to be fatal. |
