Show OUR SOLDIER BOYS BOY'S LETTER Atlanta Ga Oct 15 1918 Dearest Mother I am still in camp Is that all No Noa Not Nota a bit of it I am so happy that I really believe I am not myself Today has been a red letter day clay in my life J 1 I received my commission toda today a at about high noon but the sun wasn't nearly so high as I felt We Ve had our our- f i I graduation exercises this morning and then received our commissions General was the big man o othe or of orthe the hour but there were several colonels colonels colonels col col- col- col and a lot lot of majors After Atter speeches selections by the band ant and songs motion pictures taken am and everything like that we received our commissions from General I 1 assure you OU I am happier than I ever ever- i was i In m my life before l 1 I dont don't know where I will go from d' d here Our assignments haven't been rt made out yet et and so cant can't tell you much about myself for awhile E Some rather strange things happen happen hap hap- R pen around here I was a civilian for about a da day you OU know one has hasto hasto to be discharged from the army before before before be be- fore he can accept accent a commission Then beginning at noon we have had lieutenants doing K P.
