Show I Oil Paintings To He Given As ? Orchestra Ticket Sale Prizes Concert To Highlight Closing Art Season Is Planned As Art Benefit; I Scheduled 8:45 p.m., April 29, S.II.S. Gym l A highlight of tlie closing art season will be the Art , benefit concert to Le given by the Springville Civic Orches-' Orches-' tra on Thursday evening, April 29, at 8:45 p. m.. in the hicvh school gymnasium. The concert time has been pur-, posely set later to give members attending club meetings and other functions that evening an opportunity oppor-tunity to hear the program. To stimulate interest in the ticket sales, the proceeds from which are to go for the art, officers offi-cers of the orchestra organization have arranged a contest. To be given as prizes during the contest are two fine oil paintings by Wayne Johnson, one of Spring-ville's Spring-ville's well known artists. A beautiful beau-tiful snow scene and another landscape, land-scape, the paintings are well worth working for. They are to be presented pre-sented during the orchestra intermission inter-mission as first and second prizes, to the persons selling the largest number of tickets to the concert. The pictures are to tie on display in the high school and down town. Townspeople interested in entering enter-ing the contest may secure their tickets from the organization officers, offi-cers, Richland Haglund, Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. ,Thora Johnson, Rex Sutherland, Mrs. Minerva Jessee, LaRell Johnson or at the Herald office. The program planned for the evening consists of a variety of compositions which promise to appeal ap-peal to all. The orchestra members mem-bers and Mr. Hilgendorf, director, have been working earnestly to make the concert an outstanding success and a fitting climax to the now famous Art Show. The orchestra, strictly a nonprofessional non-professional organization, was conceived con-ceived as a recreational project for those musicians who are interested inter-ested in continuing their activity after graduation- from school.
