A wedding of interest this early fall season was that of Kathlyne Metcalf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Metcalf of this city, and Kay Mendenhall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Deal Mendenhall, also of Springville, which took place Tuesday, Tues-day, in the Salt Lake temple. On Thursday evening, the young couple was honored with a wedding wed-ding reception in the Fourth ward amusement hall to which approximately approxi-mately 300 relatives and friends were bidden. The bride was charmingly gowned gown-ed in a white silk crepe with veil en train, caught to her head with a halo of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and pink larkspur. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Metcalf, Mr. and Mrs. Mendenhall, and members of the wedding party. Mrs. Metcalf was attired in a dusty rose crepe and Mrs. Mendenhall in maroon silk velvet, both with gardenia corsages. cor-sages. Ruth Robertson was maid of honor, and Mrs. Shirlev Childs was r . a long table covered with a lovely white linen cloth and centered with tall pink tapers in crystal holders on either end. A profusion of early autumn flowers decorated the entertaining rooms. Serving were Norma Robertson, Mary Cameron, LaRae Thorpe, Almah Miner, Anita Palfreyman and Shirley Berrett, with Bernice Chader and Maurine Child pouring. pour-ing. They were supervised by Mrs. Fred Smith, Mrs. Max Crandall, and Mrs. Zina Maland. Mrs. Bernard Robertson met the guests at the door and introduced them to the receiving line. In the gift room were Dorothy and Clara Harmer, Mrs. Mildred Bray and Mrs. Lillian Crandall. Assisting with the gifts were Nana Lee Reynolds Rey-nolds and Carma Mendenhall. Following the program, the guests enjoyed dancing and refreshments. re-freshments. The couple left early in the week to make their home at Tooele. matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Luella Huntington, Doris Wing, Phyllis Bird, Helen Christensen, Veon Bird, Marjorie Simkins, Wil-na Wil-na Brown, Cecelia Maycock, and Louise Clyde. Jack Childs was best man and the flower girls were Nina Madsen and Carolyn Child. Each of the attendants was attired in a pastel formal with corsages in corresponding colors. The little flower girls wore pink and blue silk. Hilton A. Robertson, uncle of the bride, was master of ceremonies, and conducted an interesting program pro-gram as part of the evening's entertainment. en-tertainment. Mrs. J. O. Reynolds gave advice to the newlyweds; the Mendenhall sisters, Almina Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Alberta Hoover and Odessa Child, gave a vocal trio; the Fox sisters, a vocal duet, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Bird; Mrs. Gertrude Clements, a comic skit, and Fred Smith gave a vocal solo. Refreshments were served from THE MOTHERS' STUDY CLUB ENJOYED A PARTY in the form of a breakfast at Canyon Can-yon Glen last Friday morning. Hostesses for the occasion were Mrs. Mae Huntington, Mrs. Rena Roylance and Mrs. Catherine Sumsion, Sum-sion, with President Maude Peterson Peter-son directing the entertainment. It was the first meeting of the club this year and the group enjoyed en-joyed community singing and games following a delicious breakfast. break-fast.
