LADIES LITERARY VOTR TO lilX'OME FEDERATED Members of the Ladies Literary Liter-ary club voted to accept an Invt- tatlon to Join the district and state federation of women's clubs, Saturday Sat-urday night at an interesting and enjoyable meeting held at the home of Mrs. Mae Groesbeck. Mrs. Haroia Christensen and Mrs. Bert Groesbeck were appointed appoint-ed to revise the club constitution and by-laws to conform with those of the federation. The program featured a review of the play, "The Man Who Came to Dinner," given in an Interesting Interest-ing manner by Mrs. Mendenhall. Preceding the evening's entertainment enter-tainment a lovely luncheon was served by the hostess to eighteen club members. Mrs. F. C. Packard, club president, presi-dent, was in charge. Later they will meet at the home of Mrs. Willis Sumsion for a luncheon and social. Mrs. Gertrude Sumsion, Mrs Jeannle Pierce, and Mrs. Willis Sumsion will be hostesses. Following the dinner, the group wifl visit the art exhibit at the high school and later assemble at the Beal residence for a short business meeting. WHEELER-ZOBELL MARRIAGE AXXOUXCED A charming wedding of the past week was the marriage of Miss Vera Wheeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Wheeler of this city, to Leonard. E. Zobell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zobell of Lakeview, which took place March 31 in the 23rd ward chapel in Salt Lake City, with John A. Har-ter Har-ter performing the ceremony. The bride wore a charming ensemble en-semble of navy blue and rose with matching acce'ssories, and she carried car-ried a corsage of pink rosebuds. The bride was extensively entertained en-tertained in Salt Lake City, where she has lived for the past two years. A shower was given at the home of Miss Regina McRae Tuesday. Tues-day. Miscellaneous bride games were played and a delicious luncheon lunch-eon was served to Jean Kahan, Edith and Maxine Lobb, Mary Lou Muir, Mrs. Dorfs Beazer, Helen Sessions, Mrs. Adell Stevens, Mrs. Beatrice Evans, Edith Ashton, Fern Blackett, Mrs. Madge Cran-dall, Cran-dall, the guest of honor and the hostess. The Elysian chorus of Salt Lake City, of which the bride is a member, honored Mrs. Zobell at a party at the home of Miss Margaret Mar-garet Purt one evening last week. Twenty-five guests were served a lovely luncheon and games were played. Many beautiful wedding gifts were presented to the guest of honor at both parties. Parties are being planned in honor of Mrs. Zobell in Springville. MRS. GEORGE WEIGHT SURPRISED OX BIRTHDAY Mrs. George Weight was pleasantly pleas-antly surprised Saturday evening when some of her children and grandchildren called and during the evening presented her with a lovely cake, the occasion being her 66 th birthday. The cake was frosty white with the words "Happy Birthday to You" written in pink lettering on the top layer. The cake was presented pre-sented at the door while the grandchildren sang "Happy Birthday." Birth-day." Mrs. Weight also received other gifts and birthday messages from 1 relatives in California and Idaho. |
